Popular with wildlife enthusiasts, the RHS award-winning Buddleia ‘White Profusion’ Butterfly Bush features large white flower spikes, sweetly fragrant, between July and September which attract beneficial pollinators, including many butterfly species to the garden. A fast-growing, bushy, deciduous shrub with long lance-like green leaves, it enjoys a sunny bed or border and thrives in most soil types that are well drained. Growth can be up to 3m after 5-10 years. A very low maintenance and easy to grow shrub. Drought resistant.

Buddleia davidii White Profusion Butterfly Bush is a large, vigorous, deciduous shrub with long, white, sweetly-scented flower panicles with golden centres which attract a variety of pollinating insects, especially butterflies, and where the name derives from. A garden favourite, the Buddleia ‘White Profusion’ has long, narrow green leaves with pale undersides and arching branches. The flowering period is between July and September, perfect for pollinators needing food later in the summer and for also for extending the garden blooming season.  In autumn the leaves become a buttery-gold before falling.

Buddleia ‘White Profusion’ is a bushy shrub with fairly vigorous growth - up to 40cm a year. It can grow to around 8-9ft tall and equally wide so will require a good amount of space in a sunny bed or border for healthy growth. This variety has fairly large blooms up to 40cm long and deadheading the flowers once spent will encourage more stunning blooms. Prune back hard around March the following year to ensure good growth and flower production for the summer.

A deserved recipient of the RHS 'Award of Garden Merit', this eye-catching and sweetly fragrant plant is beautiful when in bloom and thrives in sunnier positions, although it will tolerate partial shade. Grow in fertile soil of any type with average moisture and well drained.
