Cornus sericea 'Yellow Buds'

Cornus sericea 'Yellow Buds'

From £8.33

Cornus sericea 'Buds Yellow' is one of the yellow Dogwood varieties noted for its bright autumn and winter colour. This deciduous shrub has green ovate leaves and clusters of small, yellow-white flowers through spring and summer. During the autumn the flowers give way to round white berries. As winter approaches and the foliage falls, the bare stems become a more vivid yellow hue, brightening up the winter gardenscape with a burst of colour. Suitable for all soil types this Dogwood variety prefers moist, well-drained soil but will tolerate poorly-drained soil too, sometimes thriving in damp conditions that would be problematic for other shrubs. It will grow happily in full sun or partial shade and in most locations. Generally pest and disease free but may occasionally be affected by honey fungus or phytophthora.

This bright yellow-stemmed Dogwood becomes extra colourful during winter when its green/golden-yellow stems provide a burst of colour against the grey winter landscape. In spring and summer it has green, ovate leaves and dense clusters of pretty, yellow-white flowers, replaced by round white berries in autumn.
