The classic English Oak provides rich autumn colour when its dark green foliage turns burnt orange and begins to fall to the ground.

Quercus Robur Trees are also a food source and natural habitat to many species of British wildlife. English Oaks have a spreading form and would be expected to reach a height and spread of 10x6m over 20 years.

English Oak Trees will grow well in all but the wettest of soils. Oaks also attract a whole host of wildlife, thanks partly to the acorns which they begin producing after 40 years of growth. \n\nThese trees can eventually reach up to 40 metres in height, but this can take between 20 and 50 years to achieve.

English Oak are great for hedging as they produce tap roots early in life, which means they do not steal moisture and nutrients from the surrounding plants.
