Japanese aralia 'Spiders Web'

Japanese aralia 'Spiders Web'

From £12.99

Fatsia japonica ‘Spiders Web’, common name Japanese Aralia ‘Spiders Web’, is a variegated form of Fatsia japonica highly favoured for its distinctive palmate green leaves which appear lightly dusted with white powder or frosted toward the exterior margins.  This attractive new variety of Fatsia also produces small, white, globe-like flowers on branching stems in the autumn followed by round black fruits for extended seasonal interest.

Fatsia japonica ‘Spiders Web’ is slightly more compact than standard Fatsia japonica and so is a better choice for smaller gardens than its larger cousin. Although it can tolerate full shade it prefers partially shaded conditions in a sheltered location. Plant in moist, well-drained soil and protect from hard frosts and cold drying winds in winter.

Growing to an average height and spread of around 2.5m at maturity, Fatsia japonica ‘Spiders Web’ is an attractive evergreen addition to any garden, but especially for the changing depth and intensity of variegation through the seasons. Perfect as a specimen plant, this lovely Fatsia variety can shine on its own or add textural and visual interest and contrast to a mixed shrub border. Especially lovely against other white-flowering plants.
