Flowering Currant

Flowering Currant shrub

From £8.99

Flowering Currant (Ribes sanguineum) is great additon to a mixed native hedge but this species looks just as impressive when planted alone due to its impressive foliage and flowers.

Flowering Currant (Ribes Sanguineum) is a very unusual in that its pretty pink flowers appear before their rich green leaves. This deciduous hedging plant also provides edible currant like berries and its foliage releases a lovely aroma when crushed which the bees love, the berries are also a treat for birds. This a very impressive hedging plant indeed and will do well in most soils but it does need some moisture to help it thrive.
