Gage Old Greengage trees produce heavy crops of green, red flushed fruits that have a greenish-yellow, sweet and delicious flesh. Although the fruits are relatively small, the flavour is exquisite. The cropping period for Old Greengage is mid season (early August). When planting, the suitable soil types are clay, sandy or loam. Old Greengage prefers a full sunlight position when growing and after 10 years of growth it reaches around 4 metres in height.
