Oleaster ( Elaeagnus x ebbingei) is a tough evergreen hedging plant and shrub suit almost any garden type, making it one of our favourite hedging shrubs. It has small but highly scented creamy white flowers in autumn followed by small orange fruits in spring so it is also widllife friendly.
|Grows Up To||4m|
Oleaster should be trimmed / pruned in late summer after flowering if your are forming a hedge. This will however strip out the short spurs which bear fruit. If you wish to harvest the fruit or leave for the wildlife, then pruning should be conducted in April & May.
