    Hedera Hibernica

    From £10.00

Irish Ivy (Hedera Hibernica) is a fast growing climber hedging plant that is perfect for training along walls and fences.

Irish Ivy (Hedera hibernica) is most commonly used to grow up walls and fences as it provides great cover, the dark green, evergreen foliage creates a rich canvas which is great for hiding unsightly features. Ivy is also a great absorbent of air pollution so if you live in an urban environment, it is a great hedging choice to plant to help keep the air around your home clean. Take a look at our Ivy Living Screens which make great alternatives to fencing panels.

A point to remember when planting and pruning your Irish Ivy is that the sap can irritate the skin. It is best to wear long sleeves and gloves when handling this plant if you have sensitive skin.

As an evergreen climber, it can be trimmed any time. Just trim as desired (can be left to grow) to keep a neat shape. When trimming it is recommended that you wear long sleeves and gloves as the sap has been known to irritate sensitive skin. Ivy also benefits from a severe pruning in late Winter.
