Cotoneaster lacteus, also known as Late Cotoneaster, has small white flowers in early summer, followed by red berries which last well into winter, making it a hit with the birds. You can prune this hedging plant to be both formal and informal, meaning it's ideal for many garden styles.
Cotoneaster lacteus hedge trimming should be done twice a year, once in early June and again in late September. It is important to prune at the right time, so as not to remove new growing shoots. After pruning, plants benefit from mulching and feeding. Use either a general-purpose fertiliser or specialist rose or other high-potassium fertiliser
