Fresh Pleached Espalier Lime Tree (Tilia europaea ‘Pallida’)
Tilia × europaea, generally known as the common lime or common linden, is a large deciduous tree. The base of the trunk often features burrs and a dense mass of brushwood. The leaves are thinly hairy with tufts of denser hairs in the leaf vein axils.
Espalier Trees are forms that are pruned back to the main ‘arms’ every year. Their structure makes them ideal for creating divisions and boundaries in the garden. They can be used to accentuate the architectural lines of a design and give it depth, while maintaining an open and airy feel, since they block very little light. Fresh Espalier Pleached trees are made with a bamboo-frame shortly before delivery. These trees are made for each order by which the stem height and size of the bamboo frame can be adjusted as required. The trees are generally cheaper as the mature Espalier pleached trees. On average, a fresh Espalier pleached tree must grow about four years before it has the adult appearance of a mature Espalier pleached tree.Learn more about Espalier Trees>
