Container grown Skimmia japonica ‘Rubella’ Shrubs
Skimmia (Skimmia japonica ‘Rubella’) is best suited to a moist but well-drained soil, in partial shade. Skimmia Rubella should be pruned immediately after flowering but no need to trim other than if it’s getting out of shape. Skimmia is suitable for normal, chalk and clay soils, full sun to semi shaded areas and inland, exposed and coastal sites. This evergreen shrub has aromatic leaves and small white or yellowish flowers followed, on fertilised female plants, by shiny red berries; most have male and female flowers on separate plants.
