Max height and spread 1.5-2m.

Spiraea nipponica ‘Snowmound’, also called Tosea spiraea ‘Snowmound’, is a mid-sized spreading deciduous shrub with arching branches and deep-green rounded foliage. In late spring to early summer, profuse clusters of small, dainty white flowers on short stems cover the length of the branches in pretty sprays, giving it the appearance of being laden with snow. The flowers of Spiraea ‘Snowmound’ draw numerous insects and pollinators to the garden making it a popular choice for wildlife lovers.

Spiraea ‘Snowmound’ prefers a sunny or partially shaded location and a well-drained soil. It makes a lovely addition to a mixed shrub border or bed, and can even be grown as an attractive and informal hedge. Being fairly vigorous in growth, Spiraea ‘Snowmound’ can be trimmed back quite hard in early spring in order to retain a pleasing shape. The maximum height and spread is around 1.5 to 2m.

Spiraea nipponica ‘Snowmound’ is a spreading shrub and can become a little leggy and less dense over the course of a growing season. A general trim can be carried out in early spring before flowering if a tidy up is required. If overgrown, cut back after flowering when it is possible to hard prune back to restore a more pleasing shape.

Other than a trim once a year, Spiraea ‘Snowmound’ needs little maintenance and is easy to grow.
