    Wall Cotoneaster

    From £7.99

Cotoneaster horizontalis, also known as Wall Cotoneaster, is commonly used as a hedging plant to cover a wall or fence and will grow upwards to a height of about 1.5m if trained upwards rather than horizontally. Not only will it make a great cover, it will also attract birds to your garden as it produces berries in the autumn.

Cotoneaster horizontalis make a great wall or fence covering due to their stunning architectural structure of branches and stems. Howevere this isn't all they are known for, it will treat you to red berries in autumn, pinkish white flowers in spring and glorious autumn colour when the tiny green leaves turn red-orange. This hedging plant is deciduous but that adds to the charm of this variety as in winter you really get to see the structure of its stems.

Cotoneaster horizontalis hedge trimming should be done twice a year, once in early June and again in late September. It is important to prune at the right time, so as not to remove new growing shoots. After pruning, plants benefit from mulching and feeding. Use either a general-purpose fertiliser or specialist rose or other high-potassium fertiliser.
